Weisman Art Museum

This building was designed by Frank Gehry. It's skin is made from stainless steel which reflects light to create interesting shapes. The museum is built up from different shapes that look like they have been slotted together. One side is made from  curved and angular brushed steel sheets which is inspired from a waterfall.

The Highline, New York

The High Line is a public park built on a rail line above the streets on Manhattan’s West Side. Founded in 1999 by community residents, Friends of the High Line fought for the High Line’s preservation and transformation at a time when the historic structure was under the threat of demolition. It is now the non-profit conservancy working with the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation to make sure the High Line is maintained as an extraordinary public space for all visitors to enjoy.

Gentle by Front for Porro

The flexible back of this chair by Swedish designers 'front' comprises a thick spring wrapped in black leather. This chair has a matching black leather seat but pale wooden front legs, which continue up and around the backrest in one loop to form arms. This simple form is elegant and reminds me off Mackintosh's designs.

Urbis, Manchester

Urbis is an exhibition area where subjects such as urban living, art, music, fashion have all been exhibited. When I recently visited it was closed for renovation, however the exterior is very impressive. The building is made from frosted  glass panel.
