Gentle by Front for Porro

The flexible back of this chair by Swedish designers 'front' comprises a thick spring wrapped in black leather. This chair has a matching black leather seat but pale wooden front legs, which continue up and around the backrest in one loop to form arms. This simple form is elegant and reminds me off Mackintosh's designs.

Urbis, Manchester

Urbis is an exhibition area where subjects such as urban living, art, music, fashion have all been exhibited. When I recently visited it was closed for renovation, however the exterior is very impressive. The building is made from frosted  glass panel.

Wire Lighting collecetion by Deadgood

Dan Ziglam & Elliot Brook of UK-based manufacturers Deadgood have designed a lighting range called Wire Lighting Collection. The collection is made using CNC wire-bending techniques, and includes pendant and table lamps in five different sizes. The lamps are available powder-coated in red, black or white, or with a rust and lacquer patina.
